Launched in 1989 the Back-to-School Program provides educational resources, textbooks and stationery for young people experiencing financial difficulty and unstable living conditions.

What is the Back To School Program?

Launched in 1989 the Back-to-School Program provides educational resources, textbooks and stationery for young people experiencing financial difficulty and unstable living conditions.

What sort of assistance will be provided?

The Back-to-School Program provides educational resources, textbooks and stationery for young people experiencing financial difficulty and unstable living conditions, including the following:

  • Text Books - either New or Second-hand until our supply or financial resourcing is exhausted
  • Stationary - which we have in stock until the supply is exhausted

Please note:

The supply of all text books and materials are limited and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis, until allocation is exhausted.

Year 11 & 12 Students can access the program throughout December and January and please call the Back To School Program on 0491 218 082 to make a time to come in.

The program generally assists secondary-aged children. Please contact us to discuss other referrals.

How do I access the Back To School Program?

Clients are referred by their school welfare officer or support worker in a third party agency.

Support workers referring clients to the Back To School Program must make a professional assessment of the client’s eligibility to receive assistance – this means clients cannot self-refer.

  1. Download the Referral Form
  2. Assess the Student, complete the referral form and apply your agencies stamp
  3. Have your student(s) attend the Back To School office with their completed Referral Form and Book list
  4. Available second hand texts will then be distributed to the Student
  5. For books not available on hand Students will receive a purchase order and can collect from the relevant bookshop
